    Set up Risk Alerts

Outcome: a rule watched for you instead of asked every week.

Any question you ask on a schedule should be an alert. The rule stays in the Topic, so the alert inherits the same definitions and lineage as a Brief.

    Steps

    1. 1

      Open the Topic

Alerts belong to a Decision Topic, so its metrics and scope apply automatically.

    2. 2

      Pick the rule

Choose an existing rule or write one. State a measurable condition with a window, for example two consecutive weeks.

    3. 3

Set the threshold where you would act

Pick the number that changes behaviour, not the one that looks interesting. Too-tight thresholds get muted.

    4. 4

      Choose how you are told

In-app by default. On Growth and above, add an action trigger to Slack, Teams, email, or a webhook.

    5. 5

      Assign an owner

Every alert needs one person accountable for the response.

    6. 6

      Review after two weeks

If it never fired, loosen it. If it fires constantly, the threshold is not a decision point.

Alerts are evaluated after each refresh of the sources they depend on, so cadence follows your plan. See refresh cadence and action triggers.
